SONGBIRD AUTOMATON CIRCA 1900 Songbird snuffbox Openwork bronze and gilded metal. The Louis XVI-style decoration features a quiver and torch joined by a ribbon bow in a medallion surrounded by foliage and flowers. Dimensions: 96 x 58 x 35 mm Early 20th century The medallion opens with the push of a button on the side. It reveals a multicolored bird turning on itself, opening its beak and whistling as it moves its wings. Winding system from the underside of the case, key supplied (mechanism to be revised, one wing to be restored).
