Concerning the fine wines of the South-West Château LABASTIDE ORLIAC Royal Héritage 1780 :

In 2007, Catherine and Isabelle Orliac, owners of Château Labastide, discovered a real treasure at the bottom of a well-hidden secretary, a missive signed by Louis XVI, dated June 11, 1780 and attesting to the King's benevolence towards Jean Orliac (wine merchant and producer, owner of Château Labastide) official supplier to the court of Versailles.

Michel Bettane, in a Special Issue of the Express in July 2014, describes the Royal Héritage 1780 vintage in glowing terms:

"The Orliac sisters, Catherine and Isabelle, produce without the planet paying attention, one of those great terroir products of which France has the secret."
